Here is a list of terms that you might come across in your curating process. They appear in Creator as well as throughout these training guides and in conversation with customer service agents. It's a good idea to familiarize yourself with these terms.

| Anthology | A collection of content organized around a theme. Anthologies vary in size from 30 to 150 different items and can include books, articles, images and streaming audio or video as well as other documents. Many are organized around historical figures, topics or periods in history. Others are organized around a certain publisher. |
Anthology Description | An Anthology description provides a fun, compelling overview of the final product. There isn't a length requirement, but you can see here that they are all a brief paragraph in length. A good rule of thumb is 80 to 100 words. |
| Anthology Overview | An Anthology overview is a field you can fill out as you please. It is suggested that it is between 200–400 words. As you can see here, the content in this section can range from personal biographies to historical biographies and even information about organizations. |
Collection | Each Anthology contains four or more collections. Collections have a title, description, image, and can contain multiple types of content. Curators choose collection names and images to organize content, much like chapters in a book. They can also control the order of the collections and the content therein. |
Contributor | A person who helped create, produce or edit a piece of content. Contributor roles include author, artist, editor, illustrator, etc. Group contributors, such as corporations or organizations, are also supported by BiblioBoard. |
| Curator | A person who assembles a BiblioBoard Anthology using BiblioBoard Creator. |
Metadata | Generally, metadata is data about data. In the case of BiblioBoard, metadata includes the title, date of publication, copyright status and description of a piece of content, as well as the names and roles of the item's contributors. Depending on the media type of an item, curators can supply other metadata information as well. |
Module | A group of multiple Anthologies. For BiblioBoard Library customers, modules organize which Anthologies users can access. |
| Panel | A panel is the part of the BiblioBoard Creator interface that is used to complete a specific step of the Anthology creation process. Example: the Upload Panel, the Review Quality Panel, the Curator Info Panel. |
| Phase | One the three major steps of the Anthology creation process: Discovery, Enhancement, Marketing. |
Piece of Content | Any individual item included in an Anthology. BiblioBoard supports books, articles, images, other documents, audio files and video files. |
